Lafayette, La (KADN)- "Everything is like half off."
"The deals are better."
While some are focused on family and food, others are plotting where they can get a better bargain on deals for the holidays.
"Definitely shopping in stores, I don't really do much online shopping."
" I feel like online is better deals than in the store this year."
"Black Friday because you can get out and more shopping."
With major retailers having deals in-store and online, shoppers say one is usually better than the other.
"They are moving on to go cyber."
"You can try on clothes online, you can try on clothes here. They have a dressing room."
Acadiana mall was full of shoppers eager to save for the holidays.
Though Kelly Hypolite says after strolling through the mall, she sees herself finding better deals on cyber Monday. "I expected it to be better in-store but I came to realize it's better online. Online it's the percentage off that the store gives you and they also have discounts whenever you sign up or certain things that you order."
While other shoppers say black Friday shopping is a holiday tradition they wouldn't miss.
"I am forty-two, I've probably been doing this since I was five. My mom, and my grandma, we never miss a black friday. The wake up early in the morning, bus the doors open," says Trisha Roy.
"Cyber monday you may get more bang for your buck but on black friday you get to experience being out there shopping," says Floyd Francisco.
"I just think it brings people out to support local places, people would prefer a one-on-one experience," says Micheal Gabal.
"I'm looking around to give you an answer and it's no. It's a mad house," expressed Lloyd Kersey.
For Kersey, the thought of black Friday fading may be a concept, but from the looks of the stores. He and others will continue to their post-thanksgiving traditions.
"Of course, I'd rather buy it in person because I can see the sizes and when you try to shop online, like this shirt right here is a triple x or large and obviously that's not good. So I like to see it in person so I can see what it is," says Kersey.
Talking to people waiting in lines, one says cyber Monday may take over black Friday in the coming years.
"Definitely feel like everybody is moving away out of the stores because it's not as packed as it use to be and I'm used to shopping in a bigger city. It's totally different," says Jay My.
Regardless if you are shopping in person or online, before heading out, remember it's always best to have a plan.
According to the national retail federation, more than 166 million people plan to shop between today and cyber Monday. This adds up to almost 8 million more than last year.
