Season ends for Lady Cajuns with 64-54 loss to James Madison in Sun Belt Tournament

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Two nights after pulling off the upset of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, the Louisiana women's basketball team fell to defending champion James Madison in the semifinals, 64-54.

Destiny Rice led the way offensively with 13 points off the bench. Brandi Williams added 11 while Tamiah Robinson finished with nine points and a team-leading five rebounds.

The Dukes came out of the gates hot, connecting from deep on their first three shots for a 9-0 lead. Robinson connected on a three of her own and Tamera Johnson followed with a pair of free throws to get Louisiana back within four. James Madison closed the opening quarter strong, pushing their lead to as many as 10, and took a 19-11 lead after the first 10 minutes of action.
