BALDWIN, La. (KADN) — Baldwin Police Chief Anthony Gibson said officers have arrested the man wanted in connection with a shooting on Mardi Gras.
Chief Gibson said Kelvin Porter Jr. of Baton Rouge was taken into custody on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
He added Porter is charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of illegal use of a weapon.
BALDWIN, La. (KADN) — Baldwin Police Chief Anthony Gibson said arrest warrants have been issued for Kelvin Porter Jr. of Baton Rouge in connection with a shooting in Baldwin on Mardi Gras.
After learning of a warrant for his arrest, Porter turned himself in to the Baldwin Police Department, Chief Gibson noted. Porter was booked in to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Chief Gibson thanked his Baldwin police officers, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, Louisiana State Police Criminal Intelligence Unit, and Louisiana State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
