SCOTT, La. - The Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial fire in the 1000 block of LA Highway 93, the former Romero’s Grocery building.
Firefighters observed a fire on the first floor, with heavy smoke conditions throughout the first and second floor of the building on Tuesday, April 5 at 10:06 p.m. Firefighters made entry into the structure where they were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
The room where the fire originated received heavy fire damage, while the remainder of the first floor received moderate smoke damage. The second-floor apartment received minor smoke damage.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is on going.No firefighters or civilians were injured as a result of the fire.
