CROWLEY, La. (KADN) — Crowley police said they are trying to find the men who fired shots at another man but hit a 5-year-old girl instead.
Police said the innocent bystander was rushed to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
According to investigators, the shooting happened in the 500 block of West Andrus Drive on Thursday, March 7, around 4:30 p.m.
Detectives learned two men, at least one of them carrying a handgun, started shooting in an area with lots of people outside, including many children.
The victim was injured while her father was walking her home from the bus stop, according to police.
Detectives said they have received lots of tips from people in the community and have several persons of interest who are now under investigation.
Crowley police extended thanks to deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office for their help at the scene.
