(KADN) - 923 new cases of COVID-19 were reported statewide by the Louisiana Department of Health on Thursday.
According to LDH's Twitter account, the majority of new cases (24%) were reported in Region 4. That region includes Lafayette, St. Landry, Iberia, St. Martin, Vermilion, Acadia and Evangeline Parishes.
LDH also reported 22 new deaths statewide on Thursday.
354 people are hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19 symptoms with 52 of those being on a ventilator.
From the start of the pandemic through October 21's numbers, 754,950 cases of the coronavirus have been reported statewide. 14,446 people have died from it.
