LAFAYETTE, La. — The Louisiana Legislative Auditor's Office released a report on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics Department.
Auditors noted some instances in which the university’s Statement of Revenues and Expenses had to be corrected because amounts listed were overstated or understated.
In addition, auditors noted variances between current-year and prior-year grants-in-aid revenue distribution equivalencies requiring explanations per NCAA guidelines.
The statement showed the athletics department's total revenues were $33,251,487 in fiscal year 2023 compared to total expenses of $41,419,975, resulting in a deficit of $8,168,488.
