LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) - One of Acadiana's largest festivals has been postponed until March 2022.
According to a post on the Festivals Acadiens et Creoles Facebook page, the events is rescheduled for March 18, 19 and 20, 2022.
The festival was slated for October 8, 9, and 10, 2021.
"...Festival organizers have decided that we cannot with a clear conscience put on our Festival Fans and our beloved musicians, restaurant workers, crafts person, volunteers and staffs at risk by having a live event in Girard Park this fall," a letter from the organizers read.
Festivals Acadiens et Creoles is the latest Acadiana festival to see a schedule change due to the increase in Delta variant COVID cases. The Delcambre Shrimp and Scott Boudin Festivals were also recently postponed.
