MORGAN CITY, La. (KADN) - Morgan City Fire investigators are working to determine what caused a fire in the Marquis Manor subdivision Sunday (Jan. 30).
According to the fire department, they were alerted of the fire about 2 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, the fire was "well advanced into the attic area" of a large home.
A second alarm was issued to call in all off-duty personnel.

MCFD posted that strong winds caused firefighters to move into a defense attack of the flames.
Two more alarms were sent out, with mutual aid from Berwick and Bayou Vista Volunteer Fire Departments responding.
It took about two hours for the crews to get the fire under control, but they remained on the scene for several more hours to put out any hot spots and pick up equipment.
MCPD said the cause of the fire is under investigation but foul play is not suspected.
