ACADIANA (KADN) — It's a battle of two small Acadiana communities for a chance to take home a state high school football championship.
Cecilia and Opelousas will go head-to-head at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Friday, Dec. 8, at noon.
This is the first time in years that the two teams have played for state titles.
The Opelousas Tigers and the Cecilia Bulldogs will face each other for the Division II (Non-Select) state championship.
Those who call Opelousas and Cecilia home say they are behind their school 100 percent.
This championship would be also be a first for the Tigers.
Some say they've never seen their city come together like this.
