BROUSSARD, La. (KADN) — With an early Mardi Gras this year, those looking to engage in festivities haven't had to wait long.
Some of the first Mardi Gras balls across Acadiana are taking place this weekend.
The Carnivale de Beausoleil Mardi Gras Ball was held in Broussard on Friday, Jan. 19.
Carnivale de Beausoleil is the brand new Mardi Gras krewe in Broussard. The ball was its inaugural event. The theme was "Welcome to Broussard" but it took on a Venetian flair.
Each court member of the krewe represented a specific Venetian mask that tied into their character for the ball.
It's that time of year again in Acadiana when we celebrate Mardi Gras with festive parades.
