Carencro man wanted in deadly Opelousas shooting turns himself in to police

OPELOUSAS, La. — The Carencro man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Breaux Bridge man turned himself in to police Monday night, Opelousas police said.

Police reported Craig Oliver Moore, 49, was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Moore is suspected of shooting Joseph Sylvester, 33, of Breaux Bridge, in an Opelousas parking lot early Monday morning.

It happened in the 300 block of S. Academy St. around 2 a.m.
