LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) — Mardi Gras 2024 got underway in Lafayette shortly after 10 a.m. with King Gabriel's Parade.
The parade featured marching bands, dancers, lots of floats, and of course, King Gabriel LXXXV.
The king's float stopped on Vermilion Street where the king performed the traditional toast to the Hub City.
Lafayette Mayor-President Monique Blanco Boulet joined this year's king, David Koke Jr., as the two tossed beads after the toast.
